Two injured in knife attack in Lugano on November 24; avoid the area



Swiss police have arrested a suspect following a knife attack in Lugano that injured two on Tuesday, November 24. A 28-year old woman reportedly grabbed a person by the neck and stabbed another in a department store in the city. One victim is in hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries and the other was lightly injured. Swiss authorities have since stated that they suspect the attack was terrorist in nature.

A heightened security presence and associated disruptions to transportation are likely in the area of the incident while police carry out operations. 


Those in the Lugano area are advised to avoid the area of the incident, monitor the situation, and heed all instructions issued by local authorities.
