Heavy snowfall and icy conditions have caused flight disruptions (including delays and cancelations) at Manchester Airport (MAN) and Liverpool airport (LPL) across the UK, according to reports on Wednesday, Janaury 30. While LPL has reoponed its runways around 10:00 (local time), MAN has only reoponed one of its runway for departing flights only. Lingering disruptions are likely in the coming hours.
The Met Office issued yellow warnings for ice and snow for much of the UK from Wednesday, January 30, through Thursday, February 1. As such, further flight, as well as road and rail disruptions are expected to persist in the coming days.
Individuals in the UK are advised to monitor local weather reports and prepare for transportation disruptions (including road closures and flight delays and cancelations).
