Snowfall causes flight disruptions at Manchester Airport (MAN) and Liverpool airport January 30; Met Office issues yellow warning for ice across most of country January 30-February 1

Heavy snowfall and icy conditions have caused flight disruptions (including delays and cancelations) at Manchester Airport (MAN) and Liverpool airport (LPL) across the UK, according to reports on Wednesday, Janaury 30. While LPL has reoponed its runways around 10:00 (local time), MAN has only reoponed one of its runway for departing flights only. Lingering disruptions are likely in the coming hours.

The Met Office issued yellow warnings for ice and snow for much of the UK from Wednesday, January 30, through Thursday, February 1. As such, further flight, as well as road and rail disruptions are expected to persist in the coming days.
