Civil society groups plan anti-carbon tax protest outside Leinster House in Dublin on January 31; localized traffic disruptions possible

A demonstration is scheduled to take place outside Leinster House in Dublin starting at 19:00 (local time) on Thursday, January 31. Various civil society groups are organizing the protest to denounce a proposed carbon tax. Localized traffic disruptions are possible in the area.

Similar protests were held in 2018 on December 22 and December 29 and took place without incident.

Individuals in Dublin are advised to avoid all demonstrations as a precaution and budget additional time to reach their destination if traveling through the affected area.
