Tunisia’s parliament is scheduled to hold a vote of confidence on Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh’s recently proposed government on Wednesday, February 26. Fakhfakh announced his cabinet on Wednesday, February 19, after reaching an agreement with the Ennada political party. The prime minister has been attempting to form a government since legislative elections took place in October 2019, where Ennada won the most seats but failed to secure a majority.
Associated political rallies and demonstrations are possible if the government fails the vote of confidence.
Individuals in Tunisia are advised to monitor the situation, avoid any protests or demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
