Security operations are ongoing in the Baghe Qazi area of Kabul as of 11:00 (local time) on Wednesday, March 25, where an unknown number of militants have assaulted a Sikh worship area. According to the Ministry of Interior, the attackers have taken an estimated 40 people hostage in Dharamshala along Shor Bazar Road. Security forces are currently clearing the area and gunfire and explosions have been reported. Some casualties have been reported and emergency personnel are on the scene. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack and the Taliban have issued a statement denying involvement in the incident.

A heightened security presence and localized disruptions are expected in the area over the coming hours.
