Members of the Hamza Omar armed group attacked guards at the Security Directorate Prison Headquarters in Jufra on Wednesday, November 25, resulting in one guard being injured. The motive for the attack was not immediately clear, and no casualties on the side of the attackers were immediately confirmed.

A heightened security presence is to be expected in the area in the near term, and further clashes and security operations remain possible over the medium term.
