Improvised rocket launcher (IRL) fires 10-12 rockets from Al-Rashdiya at Al-Taji base on March 11; no casualties or claim of responsibility immediately reported

An improvised rocket launcher (IRL) on a truck fired 10-12 rockets from Al-Rashdiya on Wednesday evening (local time), March 11, at Al-Taji base (27 km [17 mi] north of Baghdad), host to US troops. No casualties or claim of responsibility was immediately reported.

Similar attacks targeting military bases hosting US troops are possible in Iraq over the near term.

Individuals in the vicinity of Al-Taji base are advised to closely monitor the situation, avoid the affected area, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.

The security environment in Iraq remains complex. Although travel is possible in some areas with proper security protocols in place, other areas should be considered strictly off-limits. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to all travel.
