Authorities in El Salvador lift most COVID-19-related travel restrictions as of Nov. 22.
Event
Authorities in El Salvador have lifted most international travel restrictions as of Nov. 22. Domestic restrictions remain largely unchanged.
Domestic Restrictions
Most businesses are allowed to continue operating but may be required to adhere to industry-specific protocols, which can include limits on capacity and opening times as part of authorities' efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Authorities recommend that all individuals wear a protective facemask in public settings. All businesses must enhance sanitation procedures, ensure compliance with social distancing measures, and promote the use of facemasks by employees.
International Travel Restrictions
Authorities have lifted all testing and vaccination requirements for arrivals in El Salvador as of Nov. 22. However, certain health protocols and screenings remain in place at airports, including temperature checks, requirements on wearing facemasks, and social distancing. Persons showing symptoms of infection may be subject to a period of quarantine at the discretion of the authorities.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
Advice
Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements.
