Angola: Political-related protest march in Luanda, Aug. 6

The Sociedade Civil Contestaria group has called for a protest in Luanda Aug. 6 to demand the release of two political prisoners. Participants may gather as early as 09:00 at the Santa Ana cemetery and will then march towards Largo da Heroinas from 13:00. Hundreds of participants may attend the event.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the gathering sites and the march's vicinity. Clashes are possible if participants ignore police orders to disperse.

Avoid all demonstrations. If violence breaks out, leave the area immediately, and take shelter in a secure, non-governmental building.
