Event

The government of Sao Tome and Principe has eased select COVID-19-related domestic and travel restrictions as of Aug. 10. Facemasks are no longer mandatory in enclosed public areas and inside vehicles; the requirement remains to enter health institutes. In addition, unvaccinated travelers are able to enter the territory if they present a negative antigen or PCR test result issued no more than 48 or 72 hours before arrival.

International Travel Restrictions

  • Fully vaccinated travelers can enter Sao Tome and Principe without additional requirements.

  • To exit Sao Tome and Principe, the entry rules of the destination country apply.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.

Follow all official instructions. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation.
