Warning

Event

Singapore authorities will ease COVID-19-related international entry requirements, allowing the entry of all international travelers and lifting quarantine requirements beginning Aug. 29. Currently, incoming passengers aged 13 and above must present proof of an approved vaccine to avoid pre-arrival testing. Individuals aged 12 and below are exempt from COVID-19-related entry restrictions. However, unvaccinated inbound passengers can only enter for short-term visits and are required to submit a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours before arrival in Singapore. Additionally, authorities will ease indoor facemask requirements for healthcare facilities and public transportation from Aug. 29.

Officials also require incoming visitors to show proof of COVID-19 travel insurance with a minimum coverage of SDG 30,000. Lack of compliance may result in fines, imprisonment, and/or revocation of a traveler’s residency or work permit.

Domestic Measures
Officials allow all employees to work on-site; workers must wear facemasks if working directly with clients or other employees. Contact tracing requirements remain for events with more than 500 people. Authorities continue to bar unvaccinated people from dine-in services.

Officials require people who test positive for COVID-19 to quarantine at their residence for at least three days. Those who obtain a negative result from a self-administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) between the fourth and sixth day of the quarantine can end their quarantine. Fully vaccinated people who continue to receive a positive result from a self-administered ART can end their quarantine from 12:00 of the seventh day, while partial or unvaccinated individuals who still obtain a positive result from a self-administered ART can leave their quarantine from 12:00 of the fourteenth day. Close contacts of a COVID-19 patient must take a self-administered ART daily for at least five days from when they are informed of their exposure to the infected individual if they wish to leave their residence.

International Travel Restrictions
Until Aug. 29, officials only permit Singaporean citizens, permanent residents (PRs), and fully vaccinated foreign travelers to enter the country and forgo quarantine requirements. Before Aug. 29, permitted partially vaccinated and un-vaccinated travelers must obtain a negative result from a rapid antigen or PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to arrival in Singapore, quarantine at either their residence or a designated facility for seven days, and undergo a PCR test at the end of the quarantine period.

Advice

Consider postponing travel if affected by travel restrictions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions.
