Lingering rail transport disruptions are likely between Camnago-Lentate station and Milan's Cadorna station after a train broke down on the route toward Milan Aug. 24. The technical problem reportedly stopped the train, Trenord 4748, between Palazzolo and Paderno Dugnano and started a small fire, which responding firefighters quickly extinguished. The incident and associated blaze also prompted authorities to evacuate the 60 passengers on board the train; no injuries were reported. Officials have launched an investigation into the incident.

Additional ground transport disruptions are possible near the incident site until authorities conclude their investigative work, remove the impacted train from the route, and vacate the scene.
