Weather-related flight disruptions likely to continue at airports in south Florida, US, into late afternoon of March 9.

Warning

Weather-related flight disruptions will likely continue at airports in south Florida into at least the late afternoon of March 9. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued ground stop orders at Miami International Airport (MIA), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), Tampa International Airport (TPA), and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) until at least 14:00; the FAA may modify or extend the ground delay program on short notice. There are also delays at Orlando International Airport (MCO) due to adverse weather.

Lingering disruptions could extend or several hours after the ground stop order is lifted and weather conditions improve as airlines work to reposition aircraft and clear passenger backlogs.

Confirm flights if flying via airports in south Florida March 9; do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
