Switzerland: Activists to hold protest march in Geneva June 1
Activists to march in central Geneva, Switzerland, 13:30-18:30 June 1. Heightened security, periodic localized transport disruptions likely.
Activists plan to rally at Place des Nations before marching through central Geneva on the afternoon of June 1. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the WHO. Participants will protest at Place des Nations 13:30-16:00. After this, participants will depart from Place des Nations at 16:00, march through the city center, and end their demonstration at Place des Nations at 18:30. It is not immediately clear how many participants may attend or what path demonstrators will take.
Heightened security and periodic localized transport disruptions are likely in areas the march passes through. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, frustrated motorists, or politically opposed passersby cannot be ruled out.
Avoid Place des Nations and surrounding areas during the protest hours. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest site. Remain vigilant for march-related disruptions in central Geneva. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
