France: Aviation authorities to impose no-fly zone over Paris and northern France, July 26

Aviation authorities to impose no-fly zone over Paris and northern France, from 18:30-23:59 July 26; air travel disruptions likely.

Informational

Authorities will impose a no-fly zone across northern France from 18:30 to 23:59, July 26, during the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony. The zone will extend 148 km (80 nautical miles), centered on Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. The zone includes major international airports, including Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Paris Orly (ORY), Paris-Le Bourget (LBG), and Paris Beauvais (BVA). International flights transitting northern France will also likely be impacted. The French civil aviation authority (DGAC) announced the exclusion zone in late 2023; airports, airlines, and air traffic control authorities have canceled or rescheduled flights in order to mitigate disruptions.

The no-fly zone and associated mitigation measures will almost certainly cause air travel disruptions. Airport disruptions may prompt passenger processing delays.

Reconfirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via CDG, ORY, LBG, or BVA on July 26. Follow local travel advice.
