Pro-Palestine activists plan to protest in several cities across France Aug. 3. The purpose of the demonstrations is to express solidarity with the people of Palestine on the 300th day of the Israel-Hamas War. Attendance will probably vary by location; however, gatherings in major cities could draw large crowds. As of July 31, organizers have announced the following specific rallies:
Amiens: Place de l'Hotel de Ville from 11:00.
Avignon: Cite Administrative from 18:00.
Lyon: Place de la Republique 15:00-17:00.
Marseille: Ombriere du Vieux Port (also known as Ombriere de Norman Foster) from 20:00.
Metz: Place de la Republique from 14:30.
Paris: Fontaine des Innocents from 15:00.
Toulouse: Metro Jeanne d'Arc from 18:00.
Further gatherings are likely in other urban centers across the country. Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near all protest sites. Confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avoid all protests as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near any protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
