Turkiye: Air traffic controllers to stage work-to-rule strike at Antalya Airport July 3-14

Air traffic controllers to stage work-to-rule strike at Antalya Airport, Turkiye, July 3-14. Flight delays likely.

Informational

Flight delays and other disruptions will likely affect Antalya Airport (AYT) July 3-14 as air traffic controllers (ATC) employed at the facility conduct a work-to-rule strike. The purpose of the labor action is to demand higher salaries and improved working conditions.

Despite the increased potential for flight disruptions, the strike is unlikely to become crippling. AYT is Turkiye's third-busiest airport; traffic reached over 35.5 million passengers in 2023.

Contact airlines to reconfirm specific flight schedules if booked to travel via AYT July 3-14. Plan business travel agendas accordingly to allow for increased potential for late departure/arrival.

The Turkish ATC Union (HTK-SEN) staged a related strike at AYT June 20-30, causing flight disruptions at the facility. Additionally, a similar work slowdown that occurred June 7-17 reportedly reduced the number of on-time departures and arrivals at AYT by about 50 percent.
