Algeria: Adverse weather forecast across several western provinces, Aug. 23

Officials issued orange rain warnings for several western provinces on Aug. 23. The warnings cover the provinces of El Bayadh, Laghouat, Muaskar, Naama, Saida, Sidi Bel Abbes, Relizane, Tiaret, and Tlemcen. Flooding could block regional rail lines; freight and passenger train delays and cancellations are possible in areas that see heavy rainfall and potential track blockages. Disruptions triggered by inclement weather and resultant hazards, such as flooding or storm damage, could persist well after conditions have improved.
