Danielle Marais

Danielle Marais is a South Africa-based transportation intelligence analyst, focusing on the maritime and aviation sectors. She worked as an Africa-focused country and political risk analyst before joining Crisis24 in 2024. Danielle studied at Stellenbosch University, where she obtained her Master of Arts in Political Science, specializing in the governance of South Africa’s marine protected areas. Besides her work as a transportation analyst, Danielle’s research interests include sustainable ocean governance, environmental justice, and the illicit maritime economy. She also enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
