In the ever-evolving landscape of global security, Crisis24 distinguishes itself by combining innovative technologies with the most robust team of intelligence analysts in the private sector. As we get ready to inaugurate our new, state-of-the-art Global Operations Center (GOC) in Singapore, we wanted to introduce the crucial role of a Watch Operations Manager (WOM). This position is the backbone of our intelligence operations, providing 24/7 coverage and ensuring that our clients are always informed and prepared for any potential threats.
What is a Watch Operations Manager?
A Crisis24 WOM is responsible for monitoring global security, travel, and political incidents around the clock. They manage and analyze vast amounts of information, including those identified via AI algorithms, to then deliver verified, timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence to our clients. Their work involves setting and maintaining standards for tactical intelligence alerting and ensuring that all intelligence products meet the high standards for which Crisis24 is recognized. In fact, their work is what feeds our Worldwide Intelligence Platform (WIP) that connects our watch managers across the globe and to the rest of the Crisis24 organization.
How Does Their Work Fit within the Crisis24 Ecosystem?
Indeed, their work is deeply intertwined with the entire Crisis24 ecosystem. Operating within the Global Intelligence Department, we have Watch Operations teams in Singapore, Cape Town, and Annapolis that adopt a "follow-the-sun" methodology. This approach ensures continuous, seamless coverage and support for our global client base. For instance, members of the Singapore team not only monitor regional events but when a critical event occurs in the US at night, our WOMs in Singapore can still catch it quickly. These alerts often form the first touch point for a client and are followed by a deeper assessment by our analysts through Strategic Outlooks.
Collaboration is key to the WOM’s work. They align closely with product teams, regional offices, and executive leadership in an effort to continuously improve our intelligence products and services. For example, the Singapore team has been instrumental in testing and critiquing new AI models designed to more efficiently identify and report on disruptive events.
Recent Use Cases
More recently, the Crisis24 Watch Operations team in Singapore has demonstrated their expertise and dedication through several high-impact projects.
During the Olympic Games in Paris, the Singapore team was instrumental in monitoring and alerting for disruptive events. Their timely and accurate intelligence allowed clients on the ground to make swift, informed decisions, ensuring safety and minimizing disruptions like when the rail system experienced shutdowns.
Another notable example is the team's response to civil unrest in Bangladesh and election-related disruptions in India. By providing real-time, verified information, they enabled clients to implement proactive risk mitigation measures, safeguarding personnel and assets.
The role of a Crisis24 Watch Operations Manager is critical to our mission of providing unparalleled intelligence solutions. Their dedication, expertise, and ability to collaborate across the organization ensure that we remain at the forefront of the industry. Their work helps to establish Crisis24’s reputation as a trusted intelligence provider.
