Algeria: Berber New Year celebrations on January 12

The Berber New Year (Yennayer) will be celebrated on Sunday, January 12, for which celebrations are expected nationwide. Cultural activities are scheduled in Algiers, though other more elaborate celebrations are possible. Other celebrations are scheduled in Oran, Grande Kabylie, and Béjaïa. Road closures are possible in the aforementioned cities for related celebrations.
