UK: Weather warnings issued ahead of Storm Brendan January 13-14

Met Office issues wind warnings nationwide for Storm Brendan between January 13-14; strong winds, and associated disruptions expected

The Met Office issued sweeping weather warnings as Storm Brendan is forecast to impact most of the UK from Monday, January 13, through Tuesday, January 14. It issued yellow wind warnings for Northern Ireland, and western Wales including Swansea and Cardiff on Monday, as well as yellow wind warnings for central and southern England from Newcastle upon Tyne to London and Plymouth, including Manchester, Birmingham, Hull, and Norwich on Tuesday.

Weather officials expect transportation disruptions and power outages in affected areas in the coming days.
