Sweden: Flood warnings in effect in southern regions February 25

Several flood warnings remain in place in southern Sweden as of Tuesday, February 25. The most affected regions are Halland and Kronoberg, where several rivers have overflowed. Class-three warnings (highest on a scale from one to three) are in effect in both regions. In Halland, a total of 15,000 sand bags and many barriers were sent by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency on Monday. Class-two warnings were also issued in central and southern regions. Inclement weather could potentially persist as more rain is expected to hit the affected areas on Tuesday and over the coming days. Transportation disruptions, including road closures and train cancelations, are possible in the coming days.
