Iraqi officials have reported a rocket attack on an oil refinery in northern Salah al-Din governorate on Sunday, November 29, causing a fire and minor damage. At least one rocket hit a fuel storage depot in the Siniya refinery, located southwest of the Baiji refinery, the largest in the country. Officials have stated that operations have been halted at Siniya following the attack and firefighters are currently at the scene. No casualties were immediately reported. Additionally, no group has taken responsibility for the attack.
A heightened security presence is to be anticipated in the governorate over the near term. Further attacks cannot be ruled out.
