A blast reportedly struck nearby Bo Aung Kyaw Road in Botataung Township, before two further explosions took place in the intersection of Bogyoke Road and 51st Street in Pazundaung Township. The causes and exact times of the incidents are unclear. Accounts so far do not indicate any injuries or fatalities, though officials may announce casualties in the coming hours.

Authorities increased security measures, including deploying additional personnel, in the area in the hours following the explosions. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely due to the security protocols.
