TAZARA rail transport operator resumes operations in Zambia from April 18 following repairs to damaged bridge.

The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) announced that it will be resuming its full operations in Zambia effective April 18. Traffic had been suspended following an accident on a rail bridge in Mpika involving a rescue crane on April 10. The repairs had reportedly rendered travel between Mbeya in Tanzania and Kasama in Zambia impossible.

Lingering delays are possible as authorities work through possible backlogs.
