Spain: Air Europa personnel striking through July 2

Unionized Air Europa (UX) personnel are observing a nationwide strike action as of June 20; the strike started June 19 and is set to continue through July 2. The industrial action was called by the Spanish Union of airline pilots (SEPLA) in response to a perceived breach of a verbal pre-agreement on salary increases.

Air Europa will guarantee 90 percent of the flights from the Canary and Balearic Islands, and up to 65 percent of mainland flights throughout the strike period. However, flight disruptions are likely to persist through the negotiating period between SEPLA and UX management.

Confirm flights if booked to travel with Air Europa. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Allow extra time for checking in at affected airports.
