Zimbabwe: Unionized healthcare workers to strike nationwide Feb. 29-March 2

Unionized healthcare workers, including doctors and nurses, plan to strike from Feb. 29-March 2 to demand higher wages and improved working conditions. A coalition of healthcare unions under the Health Apex Council issued the strike notice amid ongoing negotiations with the government. Union leaders claim that under the current hyperinflation and economic conditions, it is impossible for workers to survive on their existing wages.

The strike will likely prompt disruptions to healthcare services, including a reduction in available services and cancelations of routine appointments.
