Authorities have closed nearby roads, including Niederlander Ufer and Riehler Strasse, and evacuated 1,000 individuals from a nearby senior center as a precaution. Should experts determine that the device in question is unexploded ordnance, authorities may further expand the evacuation zone; up to 10,000 individuals could be affected.

Road closures, evacuations, and heightened security will continue near the operation site until authorities give the all-clear, and may expand if authorities deem it necessary.
