Emergency crews, including a large police deployment, ambulances, and firefighters, are responding to reports of a suspicious person at a school in Wuppertal's Barmen-Mitte area on April 19. Police are evacuating Sedanstrasse Municipal High School. Several roads in the area are closed to traffic, including Steinweg, Sedanstrasse, Oberdornen, Parliamentstrasse, and parts of Muhlenweg.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely in the area while police continue their sweep of the school grounds, and may linger while they conclude their investigation.

The incident site is approximately 29 km (18 miles) east of Dusseldorf.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling in the Barmen-Mitte area. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
