Security increased at airports in India as of late April 26 after series of hoax bomb threats. Confirm flight reservations.

Warning

Authorities have deployed an increased security presence at all airports across India as of late April 26 following a series hoax bomb threats. Unidentified perpetrators reportedly sent emails to various airports, including the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU), Chennai International Airport (MAA), and Jaipur International Airport (JAI), earlier the same day. While authorities have determined the threats to be false, heightened security measures remain in force as several facilities, including MAA, until further notice. Officials have advised passengers to arrive earlier than normal for domestic and international flights due to enhanced screening procedures.

It remain unclear how long the heightened security posture may remain in place. Some lingering disruptions are possible even after the additional measures are lifted.

Reconfirm flight reservations through at least the morning of April 27. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance. Heed all official transport and security advisories.
