Firefighters are responding to a fire at Ghazipur Landfill in New Delhi as of April 22. The blaze, which began the evening of April 21, has been causing large amounts of smoke. Reports indicate that flammable gases in the landfill caused the fire. There have been no reports of casualties.

Poor air quality is likely in the areas surrounding Ghazipur Landfill through at least April 22. Due to reduced visibility, road closures and traffic disruptions are probable near the landfill.
