Emergency response operations are ongoing in the city of Orsk as of April 7 after two local dams broke in recent days, causing significant flooding. Early April 7, authorities evacuated an additional 1,164 residents from the city as water levels continue to rise; evacuations are taking place in parts of the New City, Nikel, and the Old City (Stary Gorod). The Old Town is reportedly only accessible by boat. According to officials, around 6,644 residential buildings are in the flood zone. Over 700 emergency personnel are deployed to assist with evacuations and prevent further flooding. Power outages are being reported in some areas.
