Spain: Anti-monarchists demonstrations planned in several cities, April 14 /update 1

Supporters of the "Republican Assembly," an anti-monarchy movement, have planned protests in several cities in Spain to commemorate the Spanish Second Republic, on April 14. Members of the opposition party Podemos will join them. Demonstrations have been planned at the following locations:

• Oviedo, Asturias: from the Oviedo/Uvieu station from 13:00 to Plaza de Porlier

• Vigo, Galicia: from the junction of Via Norte and Urzaiz Street from 12:00 to the Porta do Sol

Further protests are likely in other cities. Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near affected areas. Violence is unlikely.
