Emergency crews are continuing to extinguish a fire at an industrial waste warehouse in Bang But Sub-District, Ban Khai District, Rayong Province, as of the afternoon of April 22. According to local media sources, the blaze started around 09:00 and although it was brought under control by 12:45, evacuations are ongoing in a 3 km (1.9 miles) radius. At least one person has been taken to the hospital for treatment; no other casualties have been reported.

The fire may noticeably worsen air quality in the surrounding area over the short term. Authorities will almost certainly keep a heightened security presence at the site until firefighters extinguish the blaze and authorities complete any subsequent investigative work. Transport and business disruptions are likely in the affected area over the coming hours. Officials may close roads or issue additional evacuation orders on short notice to facilitate the emergency response and ensure public safety.

Bang But Sub-District is approximately 22 km (13.7 miles) southeast of Pluak Daeng District, Rayong Province.
