Pedro-Ann Windvogel

Pedro-Ann graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a BSc in Human Life Sciences and an Honours degree in Medical Science, specializing in Anatomical Pathology. Her academic research focused on breast and ovarian cancer within South African population groups. By developing and standardizing a PCR-based test for BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations, she contributed to advancements in diagnostic testing methods at Tygerberg Hospital. Pedro-Ann has worked as a forensic analyst and team leader at the South African Police Service's Biology Unit. At the National Cancer Registry, she was a research assistant on esophageal cancer studies as part of the Cancer Epidemiology Research Group. She also gained valuable experience as a research analyst for a medical affairs company based in England.
