Afghanistan: Explosion occurs in the Police District 9 area of Kabul Jan. 27

Officials said two police officers sustained minor injuries due to an explosion in the Dispachary area of Police District (PD) 9, Kabul, the morning of Jan. 27. An improvised explosive device (IED) reportedly targeted a security vehicle. No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.

Authorities may heighten security and close roads near the blast site for investigations in the coming hours.
