Warning

Event

Significant floods have been reported in parts of Bogota, prompting major transportation disruptions as of Wednesday, December 11. Flooding was reported at Usaquen's train station and has left buses and cars reportedly stuck in the flooded areas. More rain is forecast in the Chapinero, Santa Fe, San Cristóbal, Candelaria, and Rafael Uribe beighborhoods into Thursday, December 12.

Disruptions to business and transportation are expected to continue on Wednesday as the situation normalizes.

Advice

Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate lingering transportation and business disruptions, confirm flight reservations, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
