During an early morning (local time) vote on Thursday, February 27, Tunisia’s parliament approved Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh's coalition government. Members of Parliament voted 129 to 77 in favor of the new government following hours of debate that began on Wednesday, February 26. The cabinet includes members from several main political parties, including Ennahda, Tahya Tounes, Achaab, Attayar, and El Badil, along with some independents. President Kais Saied had previously threatened to dissolve parliament and call for early elections if the new government did not pass the confidence vote
