UK: Winter weather warnings issued for Scotland February 10-12 /update 2

The UK Met Office issued yellow weather warnings (lowest on a three-tier scale) for most of Scotland from Monday, February 10, through Wednesday, February 12. Heavy snow and strong winds from Storm Ciara are forecast to bring blizzard conditions across Scotland. Some areas may experience up to 20 cm (8 in) of snow. Wintry driving conditions are anticipated on main highways throughout the region, increasing the risk of accidents and road closures. Some rail service was impacted by the storm over the weekend due to flooding and landslides, but as of Monday evening (local time), ScotRail is not reporting any significant disruptions. Transportation, business, and power disruptions are possible throughout Scotland over the coming days due to the winter weather. Rail and flight service disruptions, including delays or cancelations, may occur, as well as adverse driving conditions.
