Indonesia: Protest scheduled to be held in Serang on November 24

Demonstration scheduled to be held in Serang on November 24; localized disruptions likely

A demonstration is scheduled to take place in Serang on Tuesday, November 24. The demonstration has been organized by several workers' groups to demand a higher minimum wage increase in the country. Participants are set to protest outside the Banten Governor Office, however, the start time has not yet been announced. The event is expected to be well attended. Industrial action in Baten Province on the same day cannot be ruled out.

A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the demonstration site, including roadblocks at the Banten Governor Office and in surrounding areas.

Those in Serang are advised to monitor the situation, avoid demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, and heed any instructions issued by local authorities.
