Australia: Anti-discrimination protests in Sydney Jan. 25, Feb. 8

Activists schedule demonstrations against Religious Discrimination Bill in Sydney on January 25 and February 8; heightened security presence and associated disruptions expected



Several civil society groups have called for protests in Sydney on Saturday, January 25, and Saturday, February 8, to protest the government's Religious Discrimination Bill. On January 25, participants plan to gather at 13:00 (local time) at Parliament House. The rally on February 8 is scheduled to start at 13:00 at Sydney Town Hall.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected near all protest sites.
