Unidentified man stabs the mayor of Gdańsk during a charity event on January 13 before being detained; details still emerging



Pawel Adamowicz, the mayor of Gdańsk, was stabbed by an unidentified assailant during a charity event in the city on Sunday, January 13. Adamowicz was attending the “Light of Heaven” event when the attacker rushed on stage and stabbed him in front of the crowd of attendees. Private security personnel detained the man before handing him over to the police. According to initial reports, Adamowicz is in critical condition and is being treated at a hospital.
