Bulgaria: Far-right party to hold march in Sofia February 22

Far-right Bulgarian National Union to hold annual Lukov March in Sofia February 22; heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions expected

The annual Lukov March, staged by the far-right Bulgarian National Union, will be held in Sofia on Saturday, February 22. An estimated 2000 participants are expected to gather at the National Palace of Culture around 17:30 (local time) before proceeding to Ulitsa Trakai 1. A counterdemonstration organized by ANTIFA Bulgaria will be held earlier in the day; participants will gather at Tsentralna Banya Park at approximately 13:00 and march toward the Sofia Municipality building.

A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the demonstrations.
