Human rights activists plan several demonstrations in Manila on December 10; heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions expected

Activists opposing the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte have called for several demonstrations in Manila on Tuesday, December 10, to commemorate International Human Rights Day. At 11:00 (local time), activists plan to gather at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, before marching to Morayta at 12:30. Rallies will also take place at Liwasang Bonifacio at 15:00 and at Mendiola from 17:00.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected near all protest sites and along all march routes.
