Protesters to gather in central Tokyo on November 23; avoid protests as a precaution

Students have called for a march to take place in central Tokyo on Monday, November 23, due to the perceived excessive pressure on students to find jobs which, reportedly, is negatively impacting their mental health and academic work. Participants will gather at Tokyo's Hibiya Park at 14:00 (local time) and march to Kandabashi Park. Demonstrators plan to protest until around 16:00 outside the nearby Keidanren Kaikan conference center.

A heightened security presence and localized disruptions are possible in the vicinity of all demonstrations.

Individuals in Tokyo are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
