Maldives: Mega Maldives airline ceases flights on May 2

On Monday, May 1, Mega Maldives airlines announced that it would be ceasing all commercial flights beginning on Tuesday, May 2, due to restructuring and recapitalization.  The company operates one B767-300 plane and has leased out others to support operations occasionally. Given that Mega Maldives only operates flights from Malé to Shanghai Pudong and Beijing Capital, it has been particularly vulnerable to Chinese tourism fluctuations.
