A 5.3-magnitue earthquake was recorded by the United States Geological Survey in Zambales, northwest of Manila, on Thursday, May 25. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the quake struck at approximately 22:27 (local time). Media sources reported that tremors were felt in Metro Manila and the surrounding suburban areas. PHIVOLCS warned that aftershocks are expected. No damages have been reported.
