Train carrying 180 people derails at Penn Station in New York July 6; no injuries reported; NJ Transit suspends services in and out of Penn Station

At approximately 21:00 (local time) on Thursday, July 6, a North Jersey Coast Line train carrying 180 passengers derailed as it entered Penn Station in New York city. While there were no reported injuries, NJ Transit suspended services in and out of Penn Station until further notice and has redirected its Midtown Direct trains to Hoboken.
Context
A NJ Transit train also derailed at Penn Station in April, with an Amtrak train derailing in March.
Beginning on July 10, Amtrak will close multiple tracks at Penn Station for eight weeks to conduct repairs in the western part of the station, which is also used by NJ Transit.
