Morocco: Doctors threaten to hold protests and strikes

Public sector doctors have threatened to launch a protest movement and the near future. A first sit-in was held in front of the Ministry of Health in Rabat on Saturday, February 10. The Democratic Health Organization, behind Saturday’s sit-in, said it would consult with other unions and plan nationwide strikes and associated protests (e.g. sit-ins) if their demands are not met.

Context

These medical unions are demanding salary and bonus increases, as well as additional medical staff in order to better accommodate patients.
